Are you a researcher, laboratory staff, librarian or in charge of a research data support service?

The Research Data Alliance (RDA) is an international organisation that promotes the sharing of scientific data and produces numerous recommendations in all fields, in a collective manner.

Since 2018, the University of Strasbourg is an affiliate member of the Research Data Alliance. The University of Strasbourg, through its membership of the organisation, wishes to support this organisation to carry out the work on establishing metadata schemas for research data. The working groups of the Research Data Alliance cover many disciplinary areas and the actions carried out by its groups are necessary for the scientific community today in terms of metadata, but also in terms of broader reflections on the quality and integrity of research data as well as on the setting of standards for the transparency of scientific research.

In order to raise awareness of the Research Data Alliance and the products underway within the thematic groups, several staff members of the University of Strasbourg decided to create a Research Data Alliance group of the University of Strasbourg.

Two first meetings took place in April and September 2022.

You are invited to participate in the third meeting of the group on Thursday 1 December 2022, from 10am to 12pm, at the European doctoral college (videoconference room).
The meeting will also be offered online via the following link: https://bbb.unistra.fr/b/cob-zhz-tf8-uh5

The agenda of the meeting will be:

  • news of the international organisation "Research Data Alliance"
  • assessment of the annual meeting of the French national group (22/11 - 01/12/22)
  • feedback from working groups, in particular:
    • FAIR for Research Software (FAIR4S) by Stéphanie Cheviron (Library Service)
    • Perennial identifiers for instruments (WG) by Sebastien Derrière (Astronomy Data Centre)
    • Evaluation of research (BoF) by Françoise Genova (Astronomy Data Centre)

Organisers:

  • Julie Thompson, in charge of Data and Open Data at the University of Strasbourg
  • Paulette Lieby, research engineer, attached to the ICube laboratory and also working at the French Institute of Bioinformatics (IFB/ University of Strasbourg, CNRS)
